What is this about?
In November 2006, Nicholas Negroponte and a group of computer experts had created the 2B1 project, a non profit organization with a goal to make a laptop computer cheaper than $150 for countries like Argentina, Brazil, Libya, Nigeria and Thailand to connect to the internet through satellite links, cellular network connections, or long-range antennas. this will allow even many people in rural areas to connect to the internet.
My opinion
I strongly believe that this project could be a gateway to sharing and helping others to understand each other cultures on a wider scale, instead of higher ranked countries sharing familiar cultures we would be able to understand the cultures of lower ranked countries with cultures unknown to us, not only would it help with sharing culture but it could also open up new trading opportunities and jobs, if taken seriously project 2B1 could help with communication and open more helpful opportunities for both lower and higher classed countries.
How far do you think project 2B1 could go?
Do you think that it could help make big positive changes?
